Sen. Reuven Carlyle represents Washington State Senate’s 36th Legislative District (Northwest Seattle neighborhoods of South Lake Union, Belltown, Ballard, Queen Anne, Greenwood, and Magnolia).
Reuven chairs the Energy, Environment & Technology Committee. He also serves on Ways & Means, Human Services, and Higher Education committees. As committee chair, Carlyle has been the lead sponsor of sweeping carbon pricing and energy investment legislation. Earlier, he was named by Governing Magazine as “one of 12 legislators to watch” and as one of the nation’s most ‘tech-savvy’ legislators by GovTech. He has been a leading voice in the Legislature for meaningful tax transparency and accountability, responsible gun safety laws, higher education, foster youth, environmental and energy strategies and more.
Professionally, Reuven is a serial entrepreneur providing strategic business development services to bring advanced solutions to highly competitive global markets. He has held senior business development, the board of director and advisory roles for McCaw Cellular Communications, AT&T Wireless, Xypoint Corp., AirSage, Twisted Pair Solutions, Synapse Product Development and other firms.
